Stephen J. Pomeranz, MD is Medical Director and CEO of ProScan Imaging and the MRI Education Foundation. He is diagnostic and technical consultant to many other medical and imaging institutions throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Asia, South America and the Pacific Rim, and has consulted for numerous athletes and professional baseball, football and basketball teams. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, he completed fellowships in magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida, and the University of Cincinnati. In his leisure time he was Junior National Target Skydiving champion (1975), and in 1976 he was a member of the United States Olympic team in Montreal as well as Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, NAAU karate champion and winner of the Jim Thorpe Award for leadership and sportsmanship in amateur athletics.

Dr. Pomeranz is the author and editor of Craniospinal MRI as well as author of Gamuts and Pearls in MRI, Orthopaedic MRI: A Teaching File, the MRI Total Body Atlas (three volumes), Pitfalls of Variations in Neuro-Orthopedic MRI, Gamuts and Pearls in MRI & Orthopedics, and Gamuts of Pearls in Neurologic MRI. He recently edited Teleradiology Step by Step, and is currently co-authoring a comprehensive text on MRI of the foot and ankle. He is also creating a full complement of CD ROM titles on MRI (both anatomy and pathology). In addition to his renowned lectures at national symposia, Dr. Pomeranz conducts national and international seminars on MRI throughout the year. Dr. Pomeranz's lectures encompass all topics associated with magnetic resonance imaging as well as computed tomography (CT) and specialized imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET). He has compiled one of the nation's most extensive teaching files on MRI.

Dr. Pomeranz, his wife Penny, and their six children, Christy, Corbin, Taylor, Jory, Kellen and Cody, live in Cincinnati, Ohio.
