Case 1

81 year old diabetic woman with atherosclerosis of the abdominal aorta and long standing difficult to control hypertension currently taking
2 antihypertensive medications presents with a blood pressure of 200/100 mmHg.

Renal Doppler images are as follows:

Figure 1a: Grey scale image shows narrowing at the origin of the right renal artery due to atherosclerotic plaque.

Figure 1b: Color Doppler image obtained at the origin of the right renal artery shows aliasing at the origin of the right renal artery and an elevated peak systolic velocity of 263 cm/second
