The gold standard for physicians in CME is AMA PRA Category 1™ credit. In the United States, AMA PRA Category 1™ credit can only be awarded by the AMA or by an organization that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to award accredited CME. The Institute for Advanced Medical Education (IAME) has been accredited by the ACCME to provide AMA PRA Category 1™ credits for physicians.

In most states, Sonographers, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants,  Registered Nurses, and others can also use AMA PRA Category 1™ CME for the purposes of recertification.** Please check with your certifying board before proceeding with IAME’s CME Activities.

We have members from all over the world and have also worked directly with several countries, such as Canada and Australia who will accept AMA PRA Category 1CME or “CPD. Again, please check with your certifying board. We are proud to be partnering with Sonography Canada and will soon be able to submit your CME to Sonography Canada on your behalf.

*When registering, be sure to check the permission box, that will allow us to submit credits to your organization on your behalf. You can go back to your account and check the box at anytime. Some organizations systems are real-time and others can take up to three days. If you have completed your cme activity and the survey and still don’t see your credit after three days, please contact us.

**As of publication, from the research we’ve done, most boards including  will accept AMA PRA Category 1™ CME. However, IAME does not guarantee that your registry will accept AMA PRA Category 1™. Please check with your registry board before purchasing your membership.
