Course Objectives of Introduction to Breast Imaging
After completing this activity, the participant will:
- Accurately Identify Breast Anatomy and Breast Structures
- Analyze the anatomical breast knowledge to recognize normal vs abnormal breast tissue in breast imaging.
- Compare Breast Cancer Epidemiology and Key Risk Factors in the context of patient history and screening guidelines.
- Evaluate mammographic images and distinguish normal and abnormal findings in different types of mammograms.
- Using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) assessment categories, formulate a plan while evaluating the implications of each category for patient management and follow-up
Target Audience
- Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
* AMA PRA Category 1™ credits are used by physicians and other groups like PAs and certain nurses. Category 1 credits are accepted by the ARDMS, CCI, and Sonography Canada.
