Course Objectives Mitral Regurgitation: An Update
After completing this activity, the participant will:
- Differentiate the types and etiologies of mitral regurgitation (MR).
- Assess the technical basics of MR evaluation and criteria with echocardiography
- Evaluate the different severities of MR.
- Recommend, based on insight gained, advanced imaging techniques like 3D echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) for comprehensive MR assessment.
- Analyze treatment options for mitral regurgitation, including surgical, transcatheter, and medical management strategies.
- Develop a holistic understanding of MR from anatomy to diagnosis, assessment, and management.
Target Audience
- Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret echocardiography.
